We refer this beer a hybrid due to its unique malt build when looking at other styles that have Wiess yeast. We fermented Saugeye with a Bavarian (aka German) Weizen yeast which contributes notes of banana and clove. This beer is brewed with a mix of Pale Malt, White Wheat, and Rye rounding out the fruity & spicy notes to create the bready full flavor. The aroma and initial taste of this beer will remind you of freshly baked banana bread. Saugeye Rye is a very light and session-able beer that in no way lacks depth. This beer is perfect for wheat lovers, hefe lovers, and the light beer lover.
